Fellowship Program:

To Train post MD students in the field of Diabetology. The course will enable physicians to learn all aspects of holistic diabetes care and remain up to date with the latest advance in Diabetology. The candidates will be trained in different aspects of holistic care of diabetes.

This is a 12 months Fellowship course affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences to train post MD students in the field of Diabetology.
 

The course will enable physicians to learn all aspects of holistic diabetes care and remain up to date with the latest advance in Diabetology.

During the course the candidates will be trained in different aspects of the holistic care of diabetes. They will also be exposed to the management of various diabetes complications through postings in the podiatry, vitreoretinal, paediatric departments. They will also have the opportunity to obtain a flavour of research in diabetes. At the end of the Course the candidate will be fully competent to deal with any type of diabetes patient as well as with diabetes complications of any degree of severity.

This is a 12 months Fellowship course affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science for candidates who have completed MS/DNB Orthopaedics, General Surgery with experience in Managing Diabetic Foot and its Complications to Train surgeons in Diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot problems.

Early diagnosis and treatment of bone and soft tissue infection associated with diabetic foot wounds Updating concepts of vascular and neurological pathologies in diabetic foot with emphasis on early diagnosis.

To design comprehensive diabetic foot wound therapies taking into account the local infrastructure.

To develop a sense of research in the field of Diabetic foot in the trainees.

To train surgeons in planning and production of customised footwear.

During the course the candidates will be trained in Basic and advanced knowledge of diabetic foot and its pathologies including vasculopathy, Neuropathy and diabetic foot infections.

Skills and attitude to develop basic skills for treating diabetic foot wounds alongwith simple operative procedures for biomechanic offloading.

Communicate with diabetic patients regarding the different complications in diabetic foot.
